Dear One Planet Sutton supporter,
One
Planet Sutton is asking you to make a pledge to cut
carbon emissions for the International Day of Climate Action
this Saturday, 24th October 2009. We aim to get as many people
as possible to make pledge within the next 24 hours.
This
December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to
craft a new global treaty on cutting carbon emissions. Your
pledge will help to reassure these leaders that they have
public support to make substantial carbon cuts that will ensure
carbon dioxide levels can be stabilised at a safe
350 parts per million.
All
of the pledges that we receive will be presented by the team
to world negotiators at Copenhagen this December, showcasing
your commitments and support for an ambitious global climate
change treaty. We will also put them up on the One
Planet Sutton web site.
Below
are some ideas for pledges, or even better, come up with your
own:
I
support world leaders at the Copenhagen Climate Summit to
set carbon targets that will stop dangerous climate change
and on this International Day of Climate Action, I pledge
to cycle to work instead of using my car.
I
support world leaders at the Copenhagen Climate Summit to
set carbon targets that will stop dangerous climate change
and on this International Day of Climate Action, I pledge
to use only energy saving light bulbs in my home.
Please
email your pledge to freya.seath@bioregional.com
by this Saturday and if you can, attach a
photograph of yourself that we can include in our presentation
of pledges in Copenhagen and then forward this email
on to 10 of your friends and colleagues in Sutton.
Thanks
for your support!

One Planet Sutton Team
